Our vocational programs are designed to help you gain the skills necessary to enter into jobs that are in high demand by employers.

Certified Nursing Assistant

This program prepares the student as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). Through classroom studies, lab, and clinical practice, the student will be prepared to assist the nurse in providing care for the resident/patient.

 

Program Details:

  • Approximately 10-11 weeks (One Semester)

  • Separate testing fee for New York  State Certification Exam

  • Brentwood, Farmingdale and Hempstead Locations

The program is an introduction to the nurse assistant program.  The instruction will include a basic nurse assistant core program along with communications and documentation skills, computer literacy, workplace math and language and professional development.

 

Program Details:

Emergency Medical Technician

This program leads to State Certification as an EMT-B. All students must have a valid NYS Driver License. Students are trained to provide care in life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions and to prevent further harm before a patient is moved. Students complete a rigorous course including didactic and practical instruction as required by New York State.

 

Program Details:

Pharmacy Technician

The course content combined with successful program completion qualifies the student to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) administered by the PTCB. The student will become a nationally certified Pharmacy Technician and be able to hold the designation of CPhT.

 

Program Details:

Physical Therapy Aide

Rehabilitation Aides will typically perform work delegated by licensed physical and occupational therapists in accordance with state rules and regulations.
